In the last 20 years, SURF has held 54 meetings! Before becoming a partner with the Association for Environmental Health & Sciences (AEHS) Foundation, SURF meetings were held at various locations across the U.S. and each one focused on answering a question. Here’s a look at the questions from the first few meetings:

• How might we better understand how organizations are evaluating sustainability in their remediation projects?
• How might we integrate sustainability metrics into remediation planning?
• How do we balance on-site cleanup with off-site impact? Who should decide?

After 20 years of collaboration, these questions are still relevant and the answers to them continue to change. We look forward to 20 more years of collaborative problem solving and discussion!
