Call for Abstracts and Session Proposals, Spring 2019 Conference
SURF IS SOLICITING ABSTRACTS AND PROPOSALS FOR GREEN AND SUSTAINABLE REMEDIATION SESSIONS FOR THE 29TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SOILS, WATER, ENERGY, AND AIR TO BE HELD MARCH 18-21, 2019 IN SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA.
In strengthening SURF’s partnership with the Association for Environmental Health and Sciences Foundation (AEHS) and sharing the body of knowledge generated by each organization, we are reaching out to our always strong SURF network and requesting that you submit an abstract relating to sustainable remediation. As SURFers, it is our mission to further the understanding and development of sustainable remediation, and what better way than presenting, whether it be a platform or a poster, to 1,000+ of your colleagues at a well-respected technical conference.
ABSTRACT DEADLINE: July 6, 2018
If you are interested in submitting an abstract, please click the link above for additional information.
Possible abstract categories include:
Green and Sustainable Remediation Project Case Studies
Example technical session proposals that may be of interest to SURF members could include:
The Role of Sustainability in Brownfield Redevelopment
Prevention Rather Than Treatment – Focusing on the Younger Generations
How to Implement a SR Program within Your Organization
Extreme Weather and Resilience Planning for Remediation Sites
If you are interested in submitting an abstract to one of these proposed technical sessions, or if you have a session idea in mind, please contact the SURF Meetings and Programs Committee Chair, Matt Ambrusch. Each technical session will accommodate up to six presentation and/or panel discussion slots. Yes, you read that right: panel discussion. SURF is happy to announce that it will be hosting a first-of-its-kind panel discussion at the upcoming 34th Annual International Conference on Soils, Sediments, Water, and Energy, October 15-18, 2018 in Amherst, Massachusetts (stay tuned for registration details, but save the date now!). We would love to make this a SURF signature and host something similar in San Diego, so if you have an idea let us know!
Please feel welcome to reach out to Matt Ambrusch with additional questions or inquiries about how to get involved with SURF meetings and programs.
