National Academies Press Webinar: Sustainability Tools in Environmental Decision Making
Sustainability tools and approaches are helping EPA to make more-informed decisions in its mission to protect human health and the environment and are helping many companies—sometimes in partnership with environmental organizations—improve their bottom line.
In this webinar (Thursday, November 20, 2014 1:00 pm, Eastern Standard Time [New York, GMT-05:00]), several of the authors of a new report will explore opportunities for EPA and other organizations for strengthening a systems thinking approach in using sustainability tools and approaches to support decision-making. The information should be helpful to anyone working on sustainability issues in federal and state agencies, industry, and environmental organizations. Speakers include environmental engineer and water quality expert Michael Kavanaugh (Geosyntec Consultants), environmental and resource economist Catherine Kling (Iowa State University), sustainable systems and air-quality engineer David Allen (University of Texas, Austin), and public policy expert Andrew Hutson (Environmental Defense Fund).
