SURF Committees and Initiatives
SURF members are engaged through six Committees:
- Communications and Outreach
- Finance
- Meetings and Programs
- Membership
- Nominations
- Technical Initiatives
In addition, the Communications and Outreach Committee encompasses two focused outreach initiatives: Academic Outreach and Government Outreach.
The Technical Initiatives Committee oversees SURF's technical projects and work products. SURF recently published guidance documents developed by the Framework, Metrics, and Life Cycle Assessment technical initiatives. Current efforts are focused on follow-up and training related to those initiatives, as well as working on three new initiatives: developing a sustainable remediation resource index, exploring the viability of a sustainable remediation site rating and professional certification system, and working towards better integration of sustainable remediation and sustainable redevelopment.
