SURF 17 - Hotels, Group Dinner, Directions, and Transportation Options

Hotel Recommendations:

SURF has not made any special arrangements with area hotels, but there are numerous hotels within walking distance of the meeting location.

Group Dinner:

The group dinner at the end of the first meeting day is a SURF tradition.  The group dinner for SURF 17 will be in nearby the Greektown neighborhood at the Parthenon Restaurant.  We'll meet at the restaurant at 6:15 pm.

Dinner is anticipated to be $35 per person and reservations are made by selecting the 'Dinner' box on the meeting registration page (click here for registration page).

Participants with special dietary needs should contact Mike Rominger.

Transportation Options:

The venue area is serviced by Chicago Midway and O’Hare airports.  Both airports have train and taxi service to/from the Loop.  O’Hare is northwest of the Loop. Midway is southwest of the Loop.

The CTA Blue Line goes from O’Hare to the Loop and back.  The Jackson Blue station is the closest to the meeting site.

The CTA Orange Line goes from Midway airport to the Loop and back. The LaSalle Van Buren station is the closest to the meeting site.

Cabs to/from either airport will cost at least $30.  Be sure to ask to avoid surprises.
