SURF 34 :: Sustainable Remediation in a Changing Landscape

Parking:
All drivers should collect a ticket at the gate during the time of entry and have the ticket validated by Security. Parking is free for SURF meeting attendees. Note: Do not insert your credit card at time of entry or you will be charged for parking upon exiting.

Group Dinner:
The group dinner is a fun SURF tradition and will be held on April 5th at Alma de la Rosa (see address and website link below). Head there immediately after the meeting ends to enjoy a cocktail (cash bar) and networking. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Cost for dinner (salad, choice of three entrees, and family style desserts), nonalcoholic beverages, taxes, and gratuity is $50/person. Sign up for the group dinner when registering for the meeting.

Local Activity:
A free, private, two-hour pontoon boat tour of the Anacostia River will be held on October 18, 2016, hosted by Anacostia Riverkeepers. The tour will leave from the Diamond Teague dock by the Nationals baseball stadium. Tentative launch time is 2 p.m. Limited spots are available; sign up online when registering for the meeting.

The group dinner is a fun SURF tradition and will be held on October 19th at 7:20 p.m. (NEW TIME!) at the Kora Restaurant (see address and website link below). Cost for dinner (limited menu), nonalcoholic beverages, taxes, and gratuity will be $45/person. SURF 30: Exploring the Energy/Water Nexus

Public Parking Options:
The underground parking garage, under the Jones School of Business, is the closest parking lot to the Rice Memorial Center or Student Center. To park in this garage, enter from Rice Boulevard (Entrance #20) and turn right at the second stop sign. The building and entrance to the garage will be on your left. Take the elevators at the North East end of the garage to the first floor. The Student Center is located across the street, on the east side, next to the semicircle drive. Parking is $1 for each 12 minutes, and $11 daily (maximum) and you can pay with cash or credit card. 

Parking is also available at the North Lot, right off of entrance #20 on Rice Boulevard. The fees for this lot are the same as for the underground garage but you can ONLY pay with a credit card.

The group dinner is a fun SURF tradition and will be held on October 6th at Prego, a restaurant specializing in fresh, modern Italian cuisine. The restaurant is a 1.2-mile walk from the meeting venue. Sign up for the dinner when registering for the meeting.
